A MENTOR’S EXPERIENCE:

“I think I speak for all of us when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this opportunity. Not just for us to experience the world and grow but what it will do for the program participants, which were all great kids. They come from different backgrounds and hold different interests but became a family. Their stories and paths from here will diverge but I KNOW that we had an impact on their lives for the better. Each London ‘19 mentor has stories about amazing conversation with each participant and how we helped coached them along in one way or another.

Mike (fellow London ‘19 mentor) and I had a conversation on the plane about the value of Living Sport. Obviously its to help young professionals get their first job or a better job. But it's also about producing good people. We all are excited to see where Living Sport goes from here and how this family that Living Sport is creating helps better the sports industry and our communities.

Alicia, you are a perfect role model for everyone. You are following your dream and hopefully we will take something from that and do the same. From the bottom of my heart... Thank you for letting me be apart of something special.”

“The Living Sport Mentor Program provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to sport industry professionals — travel the world while giving back to the next generation of aspiring sports business professionals.

As a Living Sport Mentor, I traveled to Dublin, Ireland with 25 students and recent graduates who were accepted into the program. Through sharing stories of when we were in their shoes, to providing insights on learnings thus far in our careers, myself and two other program mentors spent 10 days coaching and guiding the participants in their next steps to becoming sport industry professionals. We were able to hear the participants’ own stories - from successes to struggles - and provide advice and guidance; something that felt very impactful to me. Not to mention, you are doing all of this while traveling abroad.

While in Ireland the group worked a Tough Mudder event and experienced the Irish sport culture through stadium tours. We even received a private lesson to learn about and play Ireland’s oldest sport - hurling!

This mentoring program is sincerely a special opportunity for being able to give back to our future colleagues and co-workers. I have a mentor who continues to help me through my career, and having the ability to do that myself for these young sport professionals is a great feeling. Thanks, Living Sport!”
