PROGRAM INSIGHT:

The International Sport Business Program is a business school, international travel experience, and global work opportunity with networking, packaged together in a 10-day program. The program has gained notoriety by colleges and universities around the world supporting our mission to utilize sport as a catalyst to experience the world and to inspire personal and professional growth.

In addition to gaining knowledge through business workshops, stadium tours, and networking with business executives, students of the program will receive hands-on experience at prestigious sports events around the world. This opportunity serves as a springboard toward a future career and greatly enhances the pursuit of gaining unique and relevant business experience through sport.

As a part of the London 2024 program, we will offer two program tracks that will take place simultaneously. Admission to both tracks are competitive and placement in a specific track will be based upon the submitted application essay, interview performance, and relevant experience.

Both of the offered tracks will include business workshops, executive presentations, networking, and tours. The anchor activity of each program provides two different options (tracks).

Track A includes a hands-on, resume building work experience at a London sporting event. Students will join the staff of the Royal Windsor Triathlon and will be assigned an event supervisor to instruct on production and execution of this event.

Track B includes two (2) tickets to the weekend London Series baseball games, where the Philadelphia Phillies will take on the New York Mets at London Stadium, as part of Major League Baseball’s initiative to grow America's pastime into a global game.

Qualified students will be given the option to select either track. Some students may be offered admission into only one track. Students are only able to participate in one track, not both. Highest priority will be given to past program alumni. All individuals must be 18 years or older to apply.

Tracks A & B are explained in detail below.

ABOUT LONDON:

Study in london.png

The cosmopolitan city of London is the capital and most populous city of England in the United Kingdom. It is the premier city in Europe in terms of size, population and per-capita wealth. What strikes visitors more than anything about London is the sheer size of this city, spreading across a huge area from its core on the River Thames, which meanders through the city centre, dividing it into northern and southern halves.

London is the leading global city in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, tourism etc. and is often referred to as a world cultural capital. Those without local roots will find this gigantic metropolis surprisingly diverse, and besides English, around 200 different languages are spoken within its confines. At times, London can seem more like a country than a city.

In 2012, London became the first city to have hosted the modern Summer Olympic Games three times. London's most popular sport is football (soccer) and it has 12 Football League clubs including five in the Premier League: Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United.

The climate of London is temperate with modest daily high temperatures during summer, and winter lows that seldom fall below freezing. Rainfall is fairly regular, occurring throughout the year. Snow occurs sometimes in winter but rarely settles more than a few inches.

STADIUM TOURS (PRELIMINARY):

Stamford Bridge

HOME TO CHELSEA FC SOCCER TEAM

With a capacity of 40,834, it is the ninth largest venue of the 2022–23 Premier League season.

Opened in 1877, the stadium was used by the London Athletic Club until 1905, when new owner Gus Mears founded Chelsea Football Club to occupy the ground; Chelsea have played their home games there ever since. It has undergone major changes over the years, most recently in the 1990s when it was renovated into a modern, all-seater stadium.

Stamford Bridge has been a venue for England international matches, FA Cup Finals, FA Cup semi-finals and Charity Shield games. It has also hosted numerous other sports, such as cricket, rugby union, rugby league, speedway, greyhound racing, baseball and American football.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London is a sporting complex built for the 2012 Summer Olympic and Summer Paralympic Games and is situated to the east of the city. It contains the athletes' Olympic Village and several of the sporting venue including the London Stadium and London Aquatics Centre.

The park is overlooked by the ArcelorMittal Orbit, an observation tower and Britain's largest piece of public art. It was simply called Olympic Park during the Games but was later renamed to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.
